Velana International Airport Runway Surroundings - Republic of Maldives
Vegetation establishment at Velana International Airport Runway surrounding is a project successfully completed by Hayleys Landscaping Solutions in a newly reclaimed land area of 100 hectares with no natural vegetation and highly alkaline soil filled with sand and coral parental materials. The turf; Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon) was established using the “Seeding” method by improving soil conditions. The established turf adds aesthetic value to the land with its green appearance and prevents soil erosion from heavy sea wind.
